These seekers of false dreams
have high hopes that are smaller than nothing.
They dream of a persisting, addictive romance
at which there is less chance than no chance.
There is no prize when they reach the finish line
because another continuation is what they arrive to find.
They want new and improved things, but they don't like change.
They desire spontaneity, but keep their lives arranged.
They yearn to travel, but at home's where they remain.
They travel by television, instead of by car or plane.
They wish they had more time, but don't set any aside.
They ask at the last minute, then they're angry when denied.
They want to lose all this weight, but refuse to exercise.
They set goals for themselves, then put forth no effort for tries.
They don't use their good ideas, and wonder why they don't work.
They would like new opportunities, but are too lazy to search.
They're deserving of all things, and must always have their way.
They expect people to pay attention to every word they say.
They just wish people could see life from their scope,
But they don't realize they are pursuers of false hopes.
That's good! Quite a bit more down-to-earth than what I usually read but no less good because of it. And you won't have to puzzle at meanings in this as one would in mine lol :)
